The First Step

First Step In Faith

“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase. Just take the first step.” Martin Luther King Jr.

So much of what paralyzes us is the first step. That’s why Dr. King advises us to take it in faith. When we doubt,however,it’s hard to muster up the courage to have faith.

This week I put my sister,a novice traveler,on a plane to Europe. It was her first trip overseas,she didn’t speak the language,and she’s only traveled once before by herself. She looked at one step at a time and trusted in the outcome. It took a lot of courage and a lot of faith to take each step. Now she has memories to last a lifetime.

What do you want to accomplish this week,this month or this year? Are you ready to take a step in faith? Remember you don’t have to have it all figured out,just take the first step.
