Facebook Business Timeline Is Here!

Announcing the New Facebook Business TimelineExtra!  Extra!

New Facebook Business Timeline Arrived Today

If you’re a fan of the personal Facebook Timeline, you’ve probably been waiting for your business pages to convert.  Well on Leap Day,Facebook announced the new Facebook Business Timeline for business and brand pages.

It was being tested over the last few weeks by companies like Coca-Cola as featured by Mari Smith on her blog.  At that time it was just a rumor, but this morning around 7:30 est. or so,messages started to appear on business pages all over Facebook.

The new Facebook Business page, looks and acts like the current personal Timeline.  Companies can customize their “Cover”to highlight their brand, products or services.  The “About”section now sits more prominently on the page to offer visitors a description of the business.

Facebook Business Timeline HeaderThe Admin panel now sits above the page so you can easily see recent comments, notifications, new likes and even a glimpse at your Insights reports.  Navigation is easy with the buttons at the top of the page.

What’s the Big To Do?

For you as a business owner, now being able to see your new likes at a glance allows you to build relationships sooner with new fans.  You also can keep an eye on your Insight trends every time you open your page.

The biggest advantage we can see so far is for your fans.  Now they can easily search your page for information they need.

Why is this an advantage?

I’ll give you and example that recently happened.  I was looking for information a company posted at the end of last week.  I knew I liked the information, but with all the posts I had and they had it took me nearly 20 minutes just to find the post.

With the new format,a customer can search a business page much more easily.  Business pages can now become archive resource centers for their fans rather than just a flash of News.

It was announced on the Today Show and if you take a look at their Facebook Page you can see once you have it built out with more information how others might want to use it as a resource rather than just an information source.

What are your thoughts about the new Facebook Business page?
